I had an emotional response to Adams Hill, the place, as I stood at the top of the hill watching the twilight. My goal is for the viewer to experience their own strong feelings when looking at Adams Hill, the painting.
In these last few sessions, I’m adding small details plus glazing atmosphere over large areas to focus the impact. I can see that this stage of the process is not mostly about thinking, but instead trusting my instincts and experience, and my sense of truth.
Have to finish by next week so the painting can dry. One or two more short sessions max, and I’m done done done!
